Welcome Delaney

On a cold, Minnesota March morning we left our little home on Palace, a family of two, ready to extend our arms and open our hearts to the newest member of our clan. As if you had been planning your arrival for months, you made your debut at precisely 9:00 am, just three short hours after we stepped through the hospital doors. With the sun shining bright outside the delivery room at Abbott Northerwestern Hospital, I held you in my arms overwhelmed with love and joy. Perfection.

Your Grandma Janma*, your Grandpa Jim and your Grandma Jan were there to meet you on the morning you were born. Grandpa Jerry, Aunt Rachel, Uncle Jason and cousins Cassidy, Josh and Zack visited you later in the evenning. And via Skype you were introduced to Uncle Pete, Aunt Linley and cousin Raina. All were so happy to finally meet you!

Your baby blog wouldn't be complete with out a pictures of your inked little piggies.

Bundled for the trip home in Janma's homemade aviator hat.

*Janma is self-given nickname by your Grandma Dixon. She didn't want you to be confused by having two Grandma Jans. Kind of cute - don't you think? You have yet to determine if the name will stick.

Prologue

On a recent visit to meet you little Nina V asked me, "Where is her baby book?" After a heartwrenching pause, I told Nina that you didn't have one. "Oh," she said with a justifiable look of dismay. Overwhelmed with feelings of negligence, I vowed to begin documenting your milestones - tiny and huge - because there will only ever be one you.
This is your virtual baby book Delaney. Though there is no pouch to store a lock of your hair or first baby tooth, it won't get lost in the shuffle of a move or have to be embarrassingly tucked away in the bottom drawer of your dormroom dresser. Wherever in the world you may be, you can return to the memories of your very first home, South of Juliet, to remind you just how much you are loved.

I have a lot of catching up to do but look forward to sharing a bit about your first three months as well as all your adventures yet to come.

Enjoy Delaney - I love you to the moon!

Your on your way - we can't wait!
