The First Three Months: Adventures

As a novice mom, I wasn't entirely confident packing all the necessities and departing the comforts of our home. You were just so tiny and I was concerned about your exposure to all the nasty germs flying around. I also didn't know what I'd do if there wasn't a staircase to climb to calm you down. Yet we managed a few trips to Janma and Grandpa's, a playdate with cousin Hailey, a trip to the Minneapolis Institute of Art for the Art Bloom exhibit and a lunch date with my best friend from childhood Katie Munion. I think you had a good time. Take a look:

Janma made this hat specifically for our outing - you were quite popular among the patrons.

The First Three Months: On the Homefront

Never content to sit still, you've enjoyed an active lifestyle since the day you were born. While we didn't venture too far from our little palace during your first three months, we certainly didn't remain idle. We danced, we climbed stairs, we squatted and then we squatted some more. Here are some pictures from the homefront:

Favorite Book: Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?

I surmise your first favorite book is Eric Carle's Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? Though you are unable to verbalize an affirmative, you are captivated by the pictures as we read Brown Bear nearly every night before bed. It's my favorite time of day.

My hope for you Delaney is that you always enjoy snuggling up with a good book because as Dr. Seuss so astutely wrote, "The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you will go."
